This is our single malt whiskey NZ range, featuring distilleries across Scotland's key regions. Each bottle here comes from a single distillery and uses only malted barley. We stock both familiar names and smaller producers worth trying.
Which Single Malt to Start With
Start with the distillery's signature style. Bruichladdich Classic Laddie shows unpeated Islay character, while Glen Grant 12YO offers Speyside fruit and comes with glassware. Sherried finishes add sweetness and weight—try Arran Sherry Cask Finish or Dalmore 12YO Sherry Cask. If you want something bolder, the GlenAllachie 14YO is cask strength at 57.9%. For something less common than what you'd find at your local liquor shop near me, look at Isle of Arran releases.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between single malt and blended whisky?
Single malt comes from one distillery using only malted barley. Blended whisky mixes malt and grain whiskies from multiple distilleries.
Should I add water to single malt whisky?
A few drops can open up aroma and flavour, especially with cask-strength bottlings. Try it both ways.
How long does an opened bottle last?
An opened bottle keeps well for 1-2 years if stored upright, away from direct light and heat.
