Specials

Our Specials section gathers featured bottles across wine and spirits, refreshed regularly as the range changes. Right now you will find well-known New Zealand and Australian wines alongside Scotch whisky, tequila and flavoured spirits.

Which Special to Pick

Wine drinkers can start with Te Mata Estate Pinot Noir or Villa Maria Cellar Selection Pinot Noir for a classic New Zealand red, or Jules Taylor Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc for a crisp white. Prefer something bolder? Wolf Blass Grey Label Shiraz brings rich Australian fruit. Whisky fans should look at Glenmorangie Triple Cask or Glenfiddich 14 Year Old Bourbon Barrel Reserve, while El Jimador Reposado suits margaritas. Serious collectors can check out Penfolds Grange 2019, a famous Australian Shiraz. Featured bottles change while stock lasts.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often do specials change?

Specials change regularly, often weekly, as featured bottles sell through and new ones are added. If you see a wine or spirit you like, it is worth checking back, because the selection rotates across categories such as New Zealand wine, Scotch whisky, tequila and flavoured spirits.

What is the difference between Pinot Noir and Shiraz?

Pinot Noir is a light to medium-bodied red with red cherry, strawberry and earthy notes and soft tannins, grown widely in Central Otago, Martinborough and Marlborough. Shiraz is fuller and spicier, with dark plum, blackberry and pepper, and is the signature red of South Australia.

Should I serve red wine chilled?

Red wine suits a slightly cool serve, roughly 14 to 18 degrees. Lighter reds like Pinot Noir benefit from 15 to 20 minutes in the fridge, while fuller reds like Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon suit cellar temperature. Whites and rose should be served properly chilled.

How long does an opened bottle of wine last?

Most opened still wines last three to five days if resealed and kept in the fridge. Light whites and rose stay fresh longest, while full reds can soften within a few days. Sparkling wine loses its bubbles in one to three days, even with a stopper.
