The number comes from Leclerc’s racing number, which he has carried since 2018, and it runs through the whole blend. Master Blender Sandy Hyslop guided Leclerc through distilling and blending, and the finished whisky brings together 16 whiskies from the Chivas portfolio, every one aged for at least 16 years. Leclerc leaned towards Longmorn single malt matured in sherry casks, so the blend carries a clear sherry cask accent. It sits between the familiar Chivas Regal 12 and 18 Year Old, and it was released in limited quantities across more than 40 markets in 2026.

Chivas Brothers’ own tasting notes:

Nose: Sweet mandarin citrus, dried grape and honey, with warm spice and toffee.

Palate: Marmalade and baked apple, like a slice of cake, with toasted wood and ginger.

Finish: Rich, smooth and long.

Pour it neat in a tulip or tumbler glass at room temperature, then try a few drops of water to open up the fruit. A large ice cube works on a warm day.
