Description
Corazon Tequila Reposado is a 100% blue Weber agave tequila made at Casa San Matías in Los Altos, the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. It rests six to eight months in oak and is bottled at 40%, giving a rounded reposado for sipping or mixing.

Corazón, Spanish for heart, refers to the heart of the agave plant, the piña that is cooked and crushed to make tequila. Corazon is sold as a single-estate tequila, made from agave grown in Los Altos and distilled at Casa San Matías, the distillery registered as NOM 1103. Using one estate means each bottling draws on the same highland fields rather than agave bought in from across Jalisco.
Six to eight months is a long rest for a reposado, since the category only needs two. That extra time in oak adds vanilla, caramel and warm spice, but stops short of the deeper wood of an añejo. The result is a tequila that sits well in the middle: rich enough to sip, bright enough to mix. Corazon also makes a Blanco and an Añejo, plus barrel-finished Expresiones releases.
Serve it neat in a small tulip glass, or over a large cube of ice. In cocktails it brings a rounder flavour than a blanco: try it in a Margarita, a Paloma, or a tequila Old Fashioned with agave syrup and orange bitters. Pair it with tacos al pastor, grilled pork or steak, chargrilled corn and smoky barbecue sauces. A 700ml bottle gives about 23 standard 30ml pours.
