Mud House Merlot is produced in New Zealand by the Mud House Wine Company, which was established in 1996 and is now part of Accolade Wines. The winemakers Cleighten Cornelius and Krystal Palmer craft wines from premium vineyard sites across multiple New Zealand regions including Marlborough, Central Otago, Waipara, Hawke's Bay and Gisborne.

Mud House Merlot pairs excellently with roasted lamb, grilled beef, and tomato-based pasta dishes.
