Small Batch is Teeling’s core blend and the bottle most people try first. The whiskeys are fully aged in ex-bourbon barrels, then brought together in rum casks for up to 12 months, which adds a sweet, spiced edge to the vanilla from the bourbon wood. Teeling bottles it at 46% rather than the usual 40%, and skips chill filtration, so it has more body and flavour than many entry-level Irish blends. Teeling itself is run by brothers Jack and Stephen Teeling, who opened a distillery in Dublin’s Liberties in 2015.
